Dholera airport to open in three to four months, says civil aviation minister

Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu says the greenfield Dholera International Airport is three to four months from becoming operational, with roughly 80% of construction complete and the runway, taxiway and ATC tower already finished.

Dholera International Airport is set to become operational within the next three to four months, Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu said on Tuesday after reviewing progress on the greenfield project in Gujarat.

Nearly 80% of the overall construction has been completed, the minister said, with around 75% of the work on the terminal building finished. The Air Traffic Control tower, runway, taxiway and other key infrastructure are already complete.

Built for the industrial corridor

To support the rapidly expanding industrial ecosystem at Dholera, a dedicated 2,500 sq m cargo terminal is being developed alongside the passenger facilities.

The passenger terminal will span 25,000 sq m with capacity to handle 20 lakh passengers annually.
